The Posture and Sensory Stimulation Method with a Touch, Treat, Tape Approach (PaSS Method®)

  1. Touch: Assessment of jaw alignment, postural symmetry, and systems associated with skin, circulation, respiration, digestion, and fascia.
    • Applies physiological data (or biomarkers) with other functional outcomes, to assess a patient's complaint.
  2. Treat: Treatment focus is on peripheral stimulation through a multi-modality approach. It incorporates instrument/not-instrument modalities that use light, sound, vibration, and movement to help improve neuroplasticity.
    • These modalities are used along or in conjunction with conventional treatment strategies (applicable to the individual and their specialized plan of care as well as clinician certification and level of expertise).
      • Aquatic Setting
      • LED (Red/Blue) light therapy for improvement of pH of the oral cavity and to reduce s/s of plaque (e.g. tongue coating)
      • 72 Hz tuning fork for fascia release
      • Neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) for peripheral stimulation of the oral cavity
      • Manual therapy strategies
  3. Tape: Upregulation strategies with the use of Kinesio Tape®
